Conditions of Sale

The goods are received on the understanding that ownership does not pass until the purchase price has been paid in full, notwithstanding that “Delivery” has been made. The Seller’s liability in respect of any defects in or failure of the goods supplied or for any loss, injury, or damage attributable thereto or resulting therefrom, is strictly and solely limited to the replacement of the goods or at the seller’s option, a refund of an amount equal to the value of the services rendered according to contract price.

Mattresses sold with a manufactures warranty shall give the purchaser a claim against the manufacturer and not against the Seller. A service warranty shall entitle the purchaser to the use of the product for the period stated. If the product should fail the Purchaser shall be entitled to a credit equal to the pro-rata value of the purchase price for the period of warranty remaining.

Delivery in Port Elizabeth and surrounding areas

ABERDEENS is situated in Port Elizabeth (Gqeberha) in the Eastern Cape and therefore only offer in-house delivery and assembly to Port Elizabeth and surrounding areas (Uitenhage/Kariega & Despatch). Delivery rates charged range between R200 – R500, depending on travel distance required.

Delivery hours are between 09:00 – 17:00, Monday to Friday.

A dated delivery or collection receipt must be signed off by the customer to confirm that the customer is satisfied with the condition of the furniture piece upon delivery.

Delivery to areas outside Port Elizabeth

For deliveries to areas outside of Port Elizabeth any third-party courier company chosen by the customer can be used. Please enquire about our list of trusted furniture courier companies that have been used by ABERDEENS in the past.

Once order and payment are confirmed in store, the responsibility remains with the customer to arrange all courier related details with the chosen courier company. The usual details required by courier companies are: items ordered, quantities, product size and delivery address.

All product dimensions are available on our website and our sales staff are available to assist customers to confirm order details.

If a third-party courier company is used, ABERDEENS can not be held liable/ responsible for any damages caused to the furniture by the courier It is therefore recommended to use a courier company that specialize in furniture removals.

Please report any damages or irregularities to ABERDEENS within 7 days of receiving the products. Photos of damaged products must be sent via email or WhatsApp to one of the above-mentioned addresses. ABERDEENS will not accept responsibility for any damages to products reported after 7 days.

Products can be exchanged or refunded provided that the product is not damaged in any way. If upon inspection the returned product does show signs of damage/ wear and tear a handling fee will be charged based on severity of damage.

Lead times for bulk orders or out of stock items

ABERDEENS carries a huge range of pine furniture and although every effort is made to ensure that sufficient stock is always available in-store for our customers' certain items could occasionally be out of stock. Please allow 4 – 6 weeks lead time for any out-of-stock items to be manufactured and replaced in-store.

Bulk orders are made to order. Our general lead times on bulk orders are between 8 - 10 weeks. These lead times may vary depending on our manufacturing facility’s current workload. A more accurate lead time can be provided once order details are confirmed.

Bulk Orders & Order Cancellations

Depending on items ordered and quantities a 25% non-refundable deposit will be required before manufacturing commences and full payment will be required upon completion. The deposit and the full amount can be paid via EFT or in-store.

All orders/ products remain property of ABERDEENS until full payment has been received.

Lay By payment terms

Products can be bought and paid for via a layby agreement with the following conditions

  • 0% interest
  • 3 months lay by period
  • 25% deposit
  • Only available in store
  • Once second last payment is made the customer is required to confirm when last payment is planned to occur in order for ABERDEENS to ensure that stock of the item is available for collection.
